ELEVATOR SAFETY
We Understand Mechanical Issues Occur — But Residents Need a Clear Explanation and Plan
As we have numerous residents with limited mobility and young families,
it is for our safety that we need to find a solution that provides reliable service.
We require a report from an independent expert that documents repeated outages, prolonged downtimes, failures shortly after repair, confirmation regarding the competence of our contractors and adherence to routine maintenance. The report should be made available to owners and should reasonably discuss: condition of the elevators, age-related reliability outlook, availability of parts, repair and modernization options, and a timeline and estimated cost for a permanent solution and maintenance program.
Do we continue to approve temporary repairs, or should a more permanent modernization or replacement be considered?
Development of Adjacent Property
The Board of Directors of MTCC #1034 informed owners about ongoing discussions with the adjacent property owner regarding a potential Tieback and Crane Swing Agreement, highlighting the absence of a formal agreement and the complexity involving legal, financial, and structural implications. There is a need for expert advice, transparency, and possible owner involvement before any final decisions are made.
